Herbal Cacao is a ceremonial cacao brand founded by Sharon Fernie, working with Mopan and Q’eqchi Maya families in Belize and the Guatemalan highlands, with an emphasis on ethical sourcing and respect for the land.
What we did
- Two origin films, shot at the source of the cacao
- A brand film narrated by the founder, Sharon (voice-over + on-camera scenes)
- Direction, cinematography and stills in the field
- Production across three years, in Belize and the Lachuá region
The story
Over three years, from 2023 to 2026, we produced three films for Herbal Cacao: two origin stories and the brand film. Shot between Belize and the Lachuá region, the origin films trace ceremonial cacao back to its roots — the land and the Maya families who grow it with care and tradition. The brand film tells the story through its founder, Sharon, woven from voice-over and moments on camera. Together, the three pieces move from source to vision: where the cacao comes from, and why it matters.
